Relationships
Struggling in personal relationships can be deeply distressing. It’s common to experience difficulties with intimacy, trust, and communication, which can lead to a feeling of disconnection or dissatisfaction with your relationships. If you’re finding it hard to manage these challenges alone, consulting a psychologist like myself can help you address these issues constructively.
While I do not offer couples therapy I do frequently help individuals with their relationships with partners, family, friends, work colleagues and other people they have in their life.
Signs of Relationship Issues
There are a number of indicators that you might be experiencing relationship issues, including:
- Communication Breakdown: Struggling to discuss feelings openly, experiencing frequent misunderstandings or feeling unheard.
- Increased Conflict: Having more arguments than usual, or escalating small disagreements into serious conflicts.
- Emotional Distance: Feeling detached or disconnected from your partner, or lacking emotional support.
- Trust Issues: Experiencing jealousy, suspicion, or lack of trust in your partner's (or friends and family’s) actions or motives.
- Change in Commitment Level: One or both partners showing less interest in the future of the relationship or in making plans together.
- Avoidance:Avoiding spending time with your partner or dodging conversations about relationship issues.
